Mac Blogging Client

Free desktop blogging client for Mac OS X?

Can anyone suggest a good free desktop blogging client for Mac OS X?

Opensource will be nice. I don’t want to go for Ecto or Marsedit.

Thanks :-)

Ecto and MarsEdit are two most popular blogging clients for OS X, but if you don’t want to use those, here are a few freeware and shareware alternatives to consider.

1. Bleezer – FREE
Bleezer is a java based blogging client which is available on OS X, Windows and Linux. It works with all popular blogging service and has some useful features such as spell-check and the ability to add tags to services such as del.icio.us.

2. BlogThing – FREE
BlogThing is a simple application designed for non-technical people. In fact, it’s as easy to use as Apple Mail.

3. Frequency – SHAREWARE
Another simple blogging client with an intuitive User Interface, which can be used with Blogger, Movable Type, WordPress and pMachine to name a few.

4. BlogWorks – SHAREWARE
This application looks and feels quite amateurish. I’m not too keen on the User Interface which seems more like an OS X dialog window than a blogging client.

5. Xjournal – FREE
Xjournal is a blogging client designed to be used with the Livejournal service. A nice little application packed with great features.

Most of the blogging clients above support the XML-RPC specification, meaning they can be used with all popular blogger tools or services such as Blogger, WordPress etc.
